Creating Quality Spaces To Enrich
Your Outdoor Experience
Whats Our Why?
Leighton’s Landscapes was founded on the principle that connecting nature with leisure and incorporating it with day to day life makes for a better existence. To Leighton Thayer, the owner of Leighton’s Landscapes; landscaping is so much more than a meticulously maintained lawn or a nice stone patio. It is the creation of space that one can learn and grow in. It is the ability to enjoy nature in its midst, and not through a window or from a deck chair.
Leighton provides a variety of landscape signatures. With his love of plants and wildlife, you can be sure he will fit in a perennial or shrub into your landscape plan, along with beautiful stonework and water features. With the proper balance of aesthetics and function, Leighton's Landscapes will design and create spaces for years of enjoyment.

Meet the Team
Leighton Thayer is no stranger to designing, planning and executing large landscape installations. Leading up to the founding of Leighton's Landscapes, Leighton lead large scale installations around new and existing house sites. He prides him self on attention to detail and being a problem solver. Function and aesthetic are on the top of his priority list when it comes to planning your outdoor dreams.
Nate comes to Leighton's Landscapes as an experienced operator with a positive attitude. Nate is used to bigger equipment and even bigger jobs.
Nate heads the equipment arm of Leighton's Landscapes, but he is not afraid to jump into the tedious details of backfilling a wall or keeping a fence post level. When he is not working, you can find him mountain biking with his wife, Danielle or helping a friend out with a project of their own!
Our newest addition to the Leightons Landscapes team, Jeremy has a developed craft in anything natural stone. Seemingly born with a hammer in hand- Jeremy is very talented stone waller and stone patio installer. His talents do not end there- you should see him throw horse shoes!!
Jeremy specializes in high end landscapes and dry lay masonry applications and has done so for the better part of a decade. We are excited to have him on our team!
When Jeremy is not building with stone, he can be found hanging out with his wife, Heather or competing in horseshoe tournaments all over the northeast.
Tyler comes to Leightons Landscapes from the Stafford Tech Forestry and Natural Resource program. Currently, he is part-time with us until he graduates, at which time he will assume a full-time role. Tyler is a hard worker and very interested in learning new things. He enjoys landscaping and is hungry to learn more about equipment and stonework- he came to the right place! We are excited to have the opportunity to mold this young man.
When Tyler has some free time, you can usually find him on the farm tending to his calves, Miss Daisy, and Duke!
Big Projects - Bigger Results
Sugarbush Resort Base Lodge Renovation
For this particular client, top quality was paramount. Our outdoor stone garden was completed on time and within budget. It’s a great example of our dedication to deliver a quality product and see it through from start to finish.
Lake Dunmore Patio
While working on this project, we were very conscious of the materials and footprint of our work. Living on the water, our client was interested in an environmentally sustainable outcome, and we did everything to respect their wishes throughout the whole process. We do all we can to make sure our clients are satisfied with the final outcome.
This walkway was particularly interesting as the owner was looking for an irregular yet tight pattern. Using this custom cut stone we managed to keep a very tight pattern throughout while maintaining the visual queues of sharp lines and bold cuts.
Bluestone and Granite Fireplace
This unique opportunity found the team cutting into a brand new house build! These clients were looking to capture the "Great Room" feel in their new home while leaving space for their home theater setup. Working around the gas fireplace unit, we hand-cut and dry-laid each stone to ensure the perfect fit. High and tight was the mission and we achieved mission success!
